CALL FOR HELP IN MAKING FACE MASK COVERS FOR PROMEDICA

When we posted on Facebook and Instagram on Thursday night, March 19, 2020, about The Quilt Foundry's Call for Help in making face mask covers for ProMedica, we had no idea of the response we would receive!
Note:  The Quilt Foundry has temporarily closed their store per their website:  https://www.quiltfoundry.com/

In all cases, if you want to volunteer your time and your sewing skills,
fill out this form -->
https://form.jotform.com/200786816627161

Here is the link to ProMedica's website that will answer nearly all your questions:  promedicahealthconnect.org/news-and-community/help-the-shortage-volunteers-needed-to-sew-fabric-face-masks/
Information on this link includes:
     * mask instructions for pleated and N95
     * mask patterns
     * materials requirements
     * drop off locations and times (you do not need to get out of your vehicle)

Here are answers to our other Frequently Asked Questions:
* Elastic or fabric may be used for the "ties."  One crafty Guild Members is using seam tape!   The Quilt Foundry shared this tip for cutting wide elastic down to 1/4":  www.nancyzieman.com/blog/sewing-with-nancy/elastic-sewing-tips/
* You may use your own stash of tightly-woven cotton or linen fabric.  Remember that men and women will be using these masks.  Feel free to make them fun and a bright spot in their day!
* Here is the link to a YouTube video...in case you're more of a visual learner.  www.youtube.com/watch?v=3dIVTeJZfQQ
* ProMedica will deliver supplies and pick up completed masks from your home if you live in the metro-Toledo area or the Fremont area.  Fill out the above volunteer form and click the appropriate button. (Read on if you're outside these areas.)
* If you live outside of the metro-Toledo area or the Fremont area, you can pick up supplies and return completed masks.  Fill out the above volunteer form and click the appropriate button.
* You should receive an email confirmation that ProMedica received your volunteer submission.  (The Guild uses JotForm for its online membership application, and we send confirmation emails, too.)
* Completed masks can be dropped of at various locations throughout the Toledo area.  See the ProMedica link above for locations and times. You do not need to get out of your vehicle to drop off masks.
* Be patient.  We're sure (based on your absolutely incredible response) that ProMedica may be slightly overwhelmed with love right now.  They'll get back to you...just give them time!

Thank you for being supportive of our medical community!
